A jam that took an old song idea into the studio whilst recording our album and turned into an eerie soundtrack to a horror movie. I love some of the raw jam sounds on this epic. There is actually a freaky ghost voice appearing out of the studio recording near the end!?

The boys were jamming on this in the studio when I arrived one day. I loved the heavy ‘New Orleans’ feel and sound. Our producer, Kenny, was dragging chains up and down the stairs and layering the sound into the track! I put together the lyrics from a screenplay to a horror film I wrote back when I was living in LA in the mid 2000s. My movie is called ‘Memento Mori’ and so is the song. Memento mori is Latin for ‘remember that you must die.’ A ‘memento mori’ is also the name of a Victorian era photo of the dead. Families would commission a photographer to photograph their dead loved one to remember them. I used to collect them.
